Sergei Reviakin

Sergei Reviakin started to work at an auction house in the UK in 1995 and trained at Christie’s London gaining his MPhil in History of Art and Connoisseurship in 2000. Since then he has dealt with a wide variety of exceptional items, ranging from Ancient and Byzantine times through Renaissance and Impressionist to Modern and Contemporary art, dedicating their efforts to clients’ needs to secure original and important pieces for their collections.

Sergei has facilitated and organized over 30 art exhibitions including “Paintings from Important Private Collections” (London, 2001), “Non-conformist Art” (London, 2007), “From Realism to Art” (London, 2008), Oleg Kudryashov’s retrospective (London,2012), “Nature Translated” (St Petersburg, Moscow, 2014), a major exhibition of photographs by Charles March ( now Charles Gordon-Lennox, 11th Duke of Richmond).  Works sourced by Mr Reviakin were displayed at exhibitions at the State Academy of Art (St Petersburg, 2017) and the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts (Moscow, 2018).

 

Sergei is the author of numerous articles and publications, including “The Russian Experiment Continues: Russian Avant-Garde Art of the 1950s-1970s” (2002), “The International Art Markets: The Essential Guide for Collectors and Investors” (2009), “Oleg Kudryashov: Bridge To The Future” (2018), the first monograph on the artist’s work, and “Russian Art in the New Millennium” (2022), a new definitive contemporary art study with the prominent art historian Edward Lucie-Smith. 

 

Mr Reviakin is a member of AICA, International Association of Art Critics, and the national section of CIHA, Comite’ International d’Histoire de l’Art.
